I’ve spent more than two decades working as a writing tutor in universities and community settings, supporting writers at every stage of their development. I know that sharing your work and receiving feedback can be difficult but it’s a crucial part of the writing process.

My aim is to offer honest, informed and encouraging feedback, to show you what’s working and where your writing might be improved. We can also brainstorm ideas and discuss your concerns face-to-face on Teams.

Quick feedback (light touch)

Up to 2,000 words — £50
A concise overview with a small number of targeted comments, highlighting key strengths and offering gentle direction for further development.

Chapter Critique

Up to 4,000 words — £70
Detailed in-text comments paired with a short, focused summary, addressing details such as voice, structure, pacing, and opportunities to strengthen the work.

Full Manuscript Review (Big Picture)

Up to 60,000 words — £1200
A tailored editorial report (approx. 2 pages) offering a clear, thoughtful overview of your manuscript—its strengths, areas for development, and practical next steps to guide revision.

Short story critique

Up to 5,000 words — £100
In-text comments and a focused editorial response, addressing detail such as voice, character, structure, and emotional impact, with clear suggestions for revision.

For all feedback packages extra words are charged at £0.01 per word.

One-to-One Feedback Session (via Teams)

£60. Includes up to one hour of reading in advance, followed by a one-hour online session to discuss your work, answer your questions and explore next steps together.
